Cookie Sheet Activities are another fun and hands-on way to provide your students the opportunity to practice basic classroom skills. They are low-cost, simple to assemble and easy to store when not in use.

Our cookie sheet activity sets come with 1 cookie sheet rhyme or story and 4 cookie sheet tasks or activities to use in learning centers or work stations. Cookie sheet stories and activities are assembled with a cookie sheet and tiny strips of magnetic tape.

Once assembled, teachers introduce a rhyme or story to students by manipulating the story pieces on a cookie sheet while reading the rhyme or story. Teachers reinforce basic skills such as story recall, story sequencing and counting after they read the story to students.

Students practice and review basic skills by completing related cookie sheet activities or tasks in learning centers or independent work stations.  Some cookie sheet activity examples include:

Copying a pattern or rhyme through sequence strips

Sorting Common Objects

Basic Counting Skills

Beginning Reading and Spelling Skills

Cookie Sheet Activity Quick Tips

1.  If you really want to incorporate these activities in your classroom, equip your classroom with four to five quality cookie sheets.  This allows you to use one cookie sheet for the story or rhyme and keep four tasks set up in centers or workstations for the entire week.

2.  Use very tiny pieces of magnetic tape on your manipulative pieces. It really only takes a tiny strip to make a piece stick to the cookie sheet.

3. Store cookie sheet stories and activities in ziplock bags when not in use. This keeps everything together and neatly organized.
